Celebrity Event Designer Teams Up with Dr. Hedden
Scot Wedgeworth prepares for new reality show with cosmetic touchup
As Tuscaloosa’s Scot Wedgeworth tapes his new TV show, he wants to look his absolute best for the cameras. That’s why he’s joined forces with Dr. William Hedden as the star event coordinator, floral designer and entertainer gets ready for prime time with a new reality show. The show, called Bama Glama, will premier on the Food Network this Fall and take viewers on a behind-the-scenes look at Scot and his team.
“Special thanks to my amazing friend Dr. William J. Hedden for keeping me looking 29 always!” Scot recently posted on Facebook. “I love my newest lips more than ever … I am telling you this man is amazing! Tell him Scot sent you!”
“It’s very satisfying to help Scot look great for his TV show,” Dr. Hedden said. “He’s a very fun person to be around and I can’t wait to see his new show, because I know it’s going to be very entertaining.”
Scot recently got a VIP tour of Spa Greystone’s new digs on the second floor of Greystone Cosmetic Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
“My good friend and the one responsible for me looking fabulous – Dr. Hedden – just opened the most amazing spa ever!” Scot posted. “I got the private tour and believe me when I say it is AMAZING!!! You have to check it out! The relaxation room will blow your mind!”
Bama Glama is currently in production, with the segments being shot in Alabama, mostly Tuscaloosa, and other places across the South.
“It’s going to be an amazing show,” Scot said. “The thing that makes this show different is that it focuses on the crazy behind-the-scenes drama, and there’s a lot of that. It shows the things that happen and what we go through to have a fabulous event, but then it also shows how amazing it comes together and how we pull it off every time.”
On the forefront of wedding and event design
Scot Wedgeworth has been bringing a creative and dramatic flair to weddings and other events since 1993. He is nationally acclaimed in floral design and has worked events for Dolly Parton, Elton John, Whoopi Goldberg, Miley Cyrus and Tuscaloosa’s own Sela Ward, among other celebrities.
Scot is also well known for his support of the community. He combined his recent “8th Annual 29th Birthday Bash” with a benefit for American Red Cross tornado relief, and also supports a number of other charities listed on his website.
“Our goal was to raise money for the American Red Cross to benefit people in Tuscaloosa who are still hurting from the April 27 tornado,” Scot said. “I wanted to turn my birthday party into something that can help these people, because they still need it.”
