Americans want to put their best face and body forward, reveals the annual 2016 Plastic Surgery Procedural Statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. According to the ASPS, more than 17 million cosmetic procedures were performed in the United States in 2016.

Among the 15.5 million cosmetic minimally-invasive procedures performed in 2016, the top 5 were:

- Chemical Peel
- Laser Hair Removal

Non-invasive fat reduction and skin tightening procedures
More people are shaping up with procedures that target pockets of fat and reduce sagging of the skin. The ASPS reports that injection-based procedures that target fat in specific areas, such as under the chin, increased 18% in 2016. Meanwhile, fat reduction using special technology to “freeze” fat without surgery increased by 5%.
